Local Voices Matter
Over 86% of people surveyed said they were either fairly or very satisfied with Wealden as a place to live
625 people living in Wealden told us what they wanted during the spring and summer of 2002. The people who took part were aged 14 upwards and were selected to be representative of the whole of Wealden. We gave them a questionnaire to find out what matters most to local people.
The questionnaire was designed and analysed with the help of the Health and Social Policy Centre at the University of Brighton. The survey was carried out for the Local Strategic Partnership by District and County Councillors.
What you told us was:
The most important things in making somewhere a good place to live are
- a clean and healthy environment
- safety from crime.
The two things that most need improving in Wealden are:
- being able to get to places easily
- safety from crime.
After analysing the responses, a report of findings was published in July 2002. This was used to develop the Community Strategy to improve quality of life in the local area
