The LSP is working on a 'Better Broadband for Wealden' project, which touches on many of our Sustainable Community Strategy themes, but particularly supports the Prosperity theme.
The LSP has followed developments in the field of internet access for a few years and we have a specific priority to "develop use of broadband, particularly for electronic communication and websites, and encourage more active networking amongst local businesses".
The 'Better Broadband for Wealden' project is taking actions recommended as ways to increase broadband uptake and increase the likelihood of broadband suppliers installing the hardware needed for faster internet connections in the Wealden. Find out more here.
The LSP has also agreed to assist with a pilot project to help develop an Infrastructure Delivery Plan for the Local Development Framework. Wealden District Council, with support from the Planning Advisory Service, will develop a delivery plan that will set out how the infrastructure required alongside the Local Development Framework Core Strategy will be put in place.
